Pre-reading reflection
What do you expect to learn when you have a substitute teacher?
I expect to learn with a substitute teacher is because they are still teachers, but for only a temporary time. Also importantly, I don't really expect to learn as much as we wanted to because they don't know the regular routine as we do, and it may take time to getting used to this part of teaching a class or two.
What are some strategies substitutes used to teach their classes? Which strategies work? Which do not?
Some strategies that strict substitutes use to teach class are by being hard on them the first time (detention) when students are obstructive and rude, but friendly substitutes, tend to teach through kind and nice strategies: talk to us as normal people, and play games when finished with lesson plan as instructed by permanent teacher. Both strategies can work separately or at the same time given what teacher's personality is and the given experience they have. For instance, Ms. Scheppers is a good instructor by being strict and kind at the same time given the tendency of how she acts duing he day.
