Art from the Dust Bowl
The picture above's captioned "Migrant agricultural worker's family" has been taken around March 1936, by Dorothea Lange who became known as the "Migrant Mother." In this picture, the mother with the family of seven children seem to be surviving/enduring the dust bowl to me. Where she's leaning on seems as if she's leaning on her portable tent. The picture's atmosphere expresses dark and depressing economical times on how families have to endure the hardships of the Dust Bowl. The artist, Dorothea Lange, was concluding a month's trip photographing migratory farm labor around the state. This image represents, how old the photo was taken log ago, and represents to me the hardships people had to face in order to survive.
