The reason that the various boys gave for fighting is first of all, to prove themselves as a gang and as well as everyone else does it as a race, and to have a reputation.

Dally takes Ponyboy to see Johnny to see Johnny after the rumble because Johnny was dying. and wanted to tell Johnny they won.
3. What did Johnny mean when he told Ponyboy to “stay gold”?
Johnny meant when he said "stay gold" is to be better then what he is.

Have you been guilty of believing a stereotype and then found out later that the person just didn’t fit that perception? What does that tell you about first impressions?
No, I do not label someone because of the way when dressed or groomed. My understanding depends on if his characteristics and reputations are. Yes, I have been in those situations where finding out that person is not really that the person described. This determines how people judge you by looks, characteristics, and other qualities. First impressons are by how you resent yourself and how you describe yourself. .
5. Do you agree or disagree with Ponyboy when he said that people usually go by looks so hoods will always be the bad guys
and the clean shaven, neatly dressed kids will always be considered the good guys? Why?
I agree because when you perceive someone like that you would consider that they aren't doing necessarily bad and just people minding their own business, but no one would think they are up to no good.
6. Who are the good guys and bad guys in The Outsiders? Explain.
The good guys are believed to be the greasers and the bad guys are going to be assumed to be the Socs. The greasers are not really looking for trouble which only they fight on behalf of Johnny. They are not fighting because they are bad people until the Socs who are fighting because of revenge in which the always look for trouble.
7. What are the two things Greasers have to be proud of?
Two things greasers have been proud of is their hair, of the grease of it, and also proud of winning.
8. Who is the only Greaser who doesn’t like fights?
The Greaser who does not really find fighting entertaining is Johnny. He understands fights are worthless and a waste of time.
9. Why is Tim Shepard’s kid brother, Curly, not going to be at the rumble?
He is not at the rumble because he was in the hospital. broke into a place and got himself hurt from the glasses.
10. Why does Ponyboy feel he and his gang don’t belong with Tim Sheperd’s gang and the Brumley boys?
HE tells that they are nothing like them . they dont belong their.

the rules for rumble are no one is permitted to use of weapons.

No, it caused a lot of trouble for everyone and people got hurt. In the end the Socs surrendered anyway.

Once John died, he has no reason to live anymore.

Greaser will end up either split apart from each other or remain a game.
4. Why was Ponyboy concerned with whether or not he had asked for Darry while he was unconscious?
Ponyboy concerned with whether or not he's unconscious because he has an awkward relationship, but doesn't

Ponyboy was ill because he was recovering from the traumatic experience and was kicked in the head that has caused a concussion.
2. Why did Randy come to visit Ponyboy when he was ill? Why did Ponyboy not care that Randy was seeing his house in a messy condition?
Randy comes to visit Ponyboy that the have a mutual understanding and tells him that they have to go to court and that he's going to tell the truth. He know Randy is not going to judge so he doesn't care.
3. Why do you think Ponyboy said he’d killed Bob and that Johnny wasn’t dead? (p.g. 165-166)
He's indenial and he doesn't want Johnny to be remembered as a murderer.

The court hearing is important because that was what determines the rest of his life and he could have been guilt or innocent or even sentenced to death.

The expierence Pony went to affected him hard and seeing what he saw changed him.

Johnny left a message about why he told Pony to stay gold and explained the poem. And he wrote that he was not afraid to die anymore.

He told the judge that he is going for emotional distress.
5. Why did Ponyboy’s life seem so different after the hearing?
His life changed because he is emotionally distressed. His life changed by his grades when down, he stopped eating, and he became absent minded. He became emotionally numb.
6. Why did Soda think that being like Dally before he died was worse than being dead?
Soda believed that being like Dally before he died was worse than being dead because Dally didn't have anyone to love.

Pony might write about his expierence coming out of the movie theatre and thinking about Paul Newman because he wanted to be tough and now he is. The result will be that Pony might get things off his chest and realize that he has changed.

Pony thinks his expierence as a Greaser is important because he wants to show that their lives are the same as others and they are people.

That the Greasers are white trash and grease their hair. The Greasers being white trash is inaccurate because they have to love the way they do and some are nice.

The theme might be that everybody is the same no matter what we think,

Darry's motivation would be his brother.
